dl004d’s Fun "Call Of Mall" Commentary

Posted by gpliving
December 21, 2006

Reading the comments on Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space’s 6th & F St NW post, I am reminded of dl004d’s fun commentary, Call Of Mall: Suburban malls combine the best of the big-city experience (intersecting streets and storefronts at every turn) with the suburbs (air conditioning and tons of parking). That’s why I enjoy [...]

Tower Records, R.I.P.

Posted by pqresident
December 19, 2006

While perusing the last remnants of Tower Records’ inventory during my lunch break yesterday, I couldn’t help but think about the impending fall of retail music as we know it. When I was in high school, Tower Records at 2000 Penn Ave. (entrance on 21st Street) opened its doors and one of my four best [...]

Posted by gpliving

We’re not really sure when this actually occurred, but a stroll down F Street NW revealed a new sign above 911 F St NW. It used to be Home Nightclub and is now called Ultrabar. Here are some details at clubzone. (Sorry for the low quality pic!)

Drinx Closing Doors Soon (As Well As Red Sage)

Posted by gpliving
December 15, 2006

Tis the season to announce restaurant closings! Thanks to anon for pointing out that Drinx has announced that they will be closing. Also thanks to Jason for letting us know that Red Sage will be closing soon too. The two restaurant closings free up some large spaces for other retailers/restaurants!
