Isn't that why we're still friends with people in the suburbs? So we can use their full-size machines when our condo-size ones break down?

I generally take my clothes down to the river, wash them them on the rocks, then tote them home & hang them on my balcony. Just kidding, of course.
I've used my dryer about three times in the past six years. Overall, clothes dryers should be banned. There is no bigger unneeded waste of energy in "modern" society. Clothes dryers account for about 6.6% of the energy usage & carbon dioxide impact from American houses.
Just hang the clothes on drying racks. No cost, no burning of fossil fuels, no muss, no fuss. Also, your clothes last a lot longer than if dried mechanically.
Some California developments have changed restrictive covenants & now allow clotheslines & drying laundry in the fresh air. Someday soon dryers will be banned, & we'll all have the pleasure of seeing our neighbors' underwear flapping in the breeze... Boxers or briefs; thongs or panties? It'll all be out there for the world to see.

Dry the clothes in your apt. on a drying rack/stand. They're available at BB&B. You don't need outside air -- it works the same inside.

Oh I don't know, I find the laundry hanging in the narrow streets of the world quite charming. Maybe we should have a PQ "hang out your laundry" day to see how it looks. But then with all the traffic we would probably end up with dirtier clothes than first hung out.

I've used "by the pound" delivery service before and find the cost worth it. If you are stuck with a short term problem, it is the way to go. Otherwise, find a mom in the suburbs to go home to.

Get it fixed, fast. Would this ever take longer than, say, a week?

Someone carrying a big bag of dirty clothes on the 70/71 up to the laundromat on the 1500 block of 7th Street wouldn't look the least bit out of place.
