Penn Quarter – The Penn Quarter Neighborhood Association holds a meeting Wednesday, March 14, at Clyde’s of Gallery Place from 8:30 am to 10 am. Continental breakfast is at 8:30 am and announcements begin at 9 am. He will also introduce DDOT’s pilot program for a pedestrian zone along 10th Street between E and F Streets NW during the peak tourist season. RSVP to joann [at] pennquarter.org by 5 pm today with full name and affiliation. [Penn Quarter Neighborhood Association]

National Airport – We’ve been waiting for this. There will be less schlepping out to Dulles or BWI for those direct flights to the west coast. United is starting daily non-stop service to San Francisco from National Airport. One more non-stop to Los Angeles (LAX) and Salt Lake will also be offered by other airlines. You too can be having lunch in North Beach at The Stinking Rose by 1 pm without getting up at oh-dark-thirty. [Washington Business Journal]
Penn Quarter – The Urban Land Institute released its report on suggested future use of the MLK Library. We participated in the study and generally agree with the findings. [Washington Business Journal]
