Holiday Market Opens Monday noon-7pm!
The Downtown Holiday Market begins today! There will be live music throughout the day – for the duration of the market! All of the info, including the Complete Exhibitor Listing, is posted here. (BTW – the mayor will be stopping by at 4pm today!)
Here is a quick map – it looks like everything will be on the sidewalk in front of the Smithsonian American Art Museum (G St NW between 7th and 8th St):

The list of vendors is very good — some fabulous local artisans will be there throughout the week – almost every day has new people — so shop a lot. ScenicArtisan (a regular commentator on this blog) will be showing on a few days (I just saw his new stuff on Saturday at the Washington Glass School open house — very nice work). I am VERY excited by the market this year.
I just walked by the holiday market on my way home to 400 Mass Ave and thought it was quite lovely. There was a band playing Christmas music and chairs for people to sit and enjoy the music. The stalls had quite a variety of items. Now all they need is more food! Maybe when the sidewalk on 7th St. opens up they can expand. I think it is a great addition to the neighborhood and I hope it continues.
I’m with Andy and his mulled wine! Haven’t had a chance to stop by yet, but it looks beautiful this year. MUCH better than the sad little corner of a parking lot last year.
Diane, you sure move through husbands fast if you met him two years ago and he’s already your ex.
I wanted to say “thanks” to everyone who stopped by my booth at the market yesterday. It was a lovely day to be outside selling my paintings. (http://www.danaellyn.com)
Thanks to Claire & Ashley at the DC BID for making the market a great experience this year!
I stopped by yesterday and the quality of goods is just fine. I’m heading there over lunch to buy a few gifts. Well done BID!
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
We walked by it last night, and it looks a lot better than it did last year. Lots of lights and signage. It’s not huge, but I hope it’s an idea that will catch on and continue to grow. Now, we just need to get a mulled wine stand.
