Tangysweet Offers Complimentary FroYo Today!
Even though it’s been open for a couple of weeks, our own Penn Quarter Tangysweet (675 E Street NW) is celebrating its grand opening by offering complimentary frozen yogurt throughout the day today. Winter hours are from 1 pm to 10 pm. The press release cites hours as 11 am to 11 pm daily. Yum!

I had the vanilla. Well, I think it was vanilla. It was white. At any rate it was pretty good. It did indeed have a nice tangyness to it. I’m looking forward to trying a smoothie.
It sells cupcakes next door, which I thought were pricey, but hey, it’s probably not fair to compare them to the Hostess variety.
I got the peach-mango specialty flavor with fresh blueberries, and it was delicious. I heard some friends didn’t love the pomegranate flavor, but I liked mine enough that I’ll go back — hopefully when it’s not as jam-packed with people wanting their freebies!
It was sooooo nice to see a lot of people in that space. There were more people checking out TangySweet than ever seemed to visit Juan Valdez. I have always felt the success of that corner is critical to connecting the Penn Quarter neighborhood to the Gallery Place neighborhood.

The yogurt here is absolutely delicious and not too fattening — I went to the website and <200 calories for a medium.
