Gallery Place’s Coyote Ugly To Change Venues Later This Year
We’ve received an unconfirmed report that Coyote Ugly (717 6th St NW) will be changing venues later this year. Here is the scoop:
- We expect that by the end of the summer, the Coyote Ugly sign will be gone, the front facade cleaned, and the inside renovated to become a local bar with food, music, and lots of flat-screen TV’s for sports.

DO you know whether this move has anything to do with noise complaints from residents of the Cosmopolitan? I remember that the news ran a piece a few months ago about the struggle between Coyote Ugly and the Cosmopolitan. Just curious… Also, will Coyote Ugly relocate or is it gone for good?
This had nothing to do with complaints from Cosmopolitan residents. In fact, the Cosmo board has never had a formal complaint from a resident.
While there is a noise issue for some residents whose units are lower and close to Ugly, they have been a good neighbor. In fact, the Cosmopolitan is having a pre-4th party on Friday, June 30, on Ugly’s rooftop.
The current proprietors are giving up the Ugly franchise, so someone else can always pick it up.
The “move” is supposed to take place in the next couple of months, I believe.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Sounds great! I kind of miss the Rock, which used to be there. Do you know where Coyote Ugly might be moving?
