The (Unlikely?) PQ Espresso Bar
We make it to NYC a few times a year for shopping and to visit friends, and each time we go we try not to eat at the same restaurants or drink at the same bars. The city is so big, why not try something new each time you go? The one exception to that rule is Zibetto Espresso Bar on 6th Avenue near Central Park. A small but long & modern space, at Zibetto they make the finest espresso drinks you’ll have this side of the Atlantic.
DC has nothing quite like Zibetto, but we have been favorably impressed with the coffees and espresso-bar-like atmosphere of Pitango Gelato (413 7th St NW). We’ve written about Pitango before (specifically about our love of their biscotti) but we find ourselves stopping by more to have an espresso, capuccino, or sometimes a marrochino (equal parts hot chocolate & espresso). The drinks themselves are outstanding, possibly the best espresso-based beverages we’ve had in DC, but it is the atmosphere that keeps us coming back (and the friendly service). When the hour or weather means fewer crowds waiting for gelato, Pitango takes on an almost Zibetto-like vibe. It is not the same as our beloved NYC coffee bar, but it is pretty close and reminds us how lucky we are to have Pitango in our neighborhood.

You (and they) are spelling marocchino incorrectly. But yes, they have good espresso drinks.
