Jazz In The (Sculpture) Garden Begins Today In Penn Quarter
One of our favorite parts of living in DC and especially in Penn Quarter, Jazz in the Garden, begins today! Tom Lagana, jazz guitarist, kicks off the summer program today at 5 pm. The schedule can be found here with more general information about time and location as indicated by an excerpt from the press release shown below:
The Jazz in the Garden concert series at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden begins its 15th season on May 22, 2015, with weekly performances on Fridays through August 28. The free concerts feature local and nationally acclaimed musicians who perform a wide variety of musical styles—blues fusion, Brazilian, be-bop, salsa, Latin, and Afro-Cuban—every Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:30 in the Sculpture Garden, located between 7th and 9th Streets along Constitution Avenue NW.
The Penn Quarter Neighborhood Association also reminds us that:
- Sculpture Garden hours are extended to 9:30pm
- Picnickers may bring blankets
- Alcoholic beverages and coolers are not permitted
- The Pavilion Café and carts located on the patios offer a seasonal light fare menu and cold beverages
