How Do You Know Congress Is Spending Your Money?
Simple. The lights below the Statue of Freedom in the Capitol dome are lit on a Friday night. The above photo from the top of a Penn Quarter building was submitted with a timestamp of 9:23 pm on Friday, February 13, the night Congress was debating the $787 billion stimulus package. President Obama is expected to sign the bill tomorrow in Denver.
If you want to see CNN’s video coverage of Senator Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) arriving at 10:30 pm that night to cast the 60th vote, Wonkette has the scoop. For the economic oddsmakers out there, some say it could push the national deficit well over 10% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Speaking of photos, there is a ‘pqliving’ tag now available in flickr so if you want to tag your photos, we may choose one (or two or three) from the pqliving flickr pool to put on display as photo of the week (or month or quarter).
