Thanks for updating us, GPLiving! I was going to ask you all what the status of this was. I hope they can be open by the end of the month. These 2 have been teasing us for months now! I also like the signs out front.
Oh no, Chopsticks is gone? Personally, I thought they had some of the best lo mein around and the portions were enormous for the bargain-basement prices.
If Chopsticks’ time has passed, I put my money on either (a) TGI Fridays, Applebees or maybe another chain pharmacy to move in.
Except maybe the Dollar Store, I don’t think I could come up with more unappealing retail than Comfort One and Ecco.
I was thinking Comfort One and Ecco didn’t “belong” in this neighborhood and may not do well, but then I thought about all the tourists with sore feet and the lack of other shoe stores, and now I am thinking they may do well. I was also thinking that a lot of the people who were getting upset about the post on valet parking, angrily telling people how they had to be “more urban”, might buy those shoes too.
I don’t know but my guess is that Ecco and Comfort One may be too corporate for some of those folks. Wearing those brands won’t scream “I’m a city dweller” loud enough.
Hey y’all. I am hip & urban, the word young need not apply. I wear clogs as an alternative to sneakers to walk around and welcome Comfort One. It’s a neighborhood store not a cool destination. The three in Dupont Cirlce are always busy and not with vintage Soceer Moms. No more whines, ok!

I am looking forward to the opening. However, it sure would have been nicer to have a grocery store open instead.
Yesterday, Peapod delivered 1 dozen eggs, of which half of the dozen were broken. In addition, I need some some sour cream.
A girl could wish. Never thought I would be wishing for a grocery store over a shoe store.
So much Penn Quarter living.
