RSS FeedDC Taxi Cab Shortage Expected Next Week Through September
Unless you read The Diary of Mad DC Cabbie, you probably wouldn’t expect a cab shortage in September. But, here is Mad’s logic: 1) More than half of the 8000 DC cab drivers are of Ethiopian descent, 2) September 11th will be Ethiopia’s year 2000 celebration, and 3) many of these cab drivers are planning to go to Ethiopia in September.
So, Penn Quarter residents should brace themselves for bad cab hailing etiquette as frustrated people compete to hire fewer cabs.
