Filing District Taxes Online Is Free And Similar To Using TurboTax
This blogger was pleasantly surprised to find that the District has completely digitized the tax filing process. All you have to do is complete your federal tax form (1040) and log into DC’s Individual Income Tax Online Filing website. You use the site kind of like TurboTax – just enter in numbers that are already on your federal 1040 tax form and all of the number crunching is done by the website. After entering numbers on about 20 web pages, you file your return electronically and download a PDF of your completed return. Print it out and smile at how much time you saved doing your taxes online!
It’s completely free to all District residents – even if you are using the full D-40 form (not just the EZ one).
