Food “Revolution” Coming to 7th Street (413 7th St NW)
Window signs announcing a food revolution went up into the two bays to the left of Pitango Gelato’s forthcoming Penn Quarter location at 413 7th Street NW. Formerly a single space housing the Zenith Gallery, a demising wall now separates Pitango from the newly announced joint. The due date indicated on the signs? Simply the summer…7th Street NW as restaurant row marches onward. More photo evidence follows…

Interesting. The logo is very similar to Oliver’s (a fist with vegetables in it, vs. a fist with fork shown here). Whatever it is, it will be nice to have something come into that part of the neighborhood. It’s been forlorn too long.
This is very puzzling and intriguing. My first thought was the Jaime Oliver show or maybe Michelle Obama’s new healthy food initiative. The permit on the window for interior construction work was granted to “The United States of America”. Hmmmmmmm…..
Yes, this looks like a Jamie Oliver cooking center, like the one in Huntington, WV. Quoting the WashPo: “Among other things, Oliver is drawing up a blueprint for a franchise of cooking centers, like the one in Huntington, across the United States.”

There is an intriguing food centric business coming soon on 7th next to the coming Pitango Gelato store. I have no idea what it is, but the banner in the window touts a new food revolution that is coming soon. Any sleuths out there know what is coming in this space?
