Gallery Square (7th And H St NW) Takes Another Twist
Or is it a turn this time? Last week, the Washington Business Journal reported that Monument Realty may be riding in to save the day for the Gallery Square project which is on the north east corner of 7th and H Streets NW. Monument Realty has developed many commercial and residential properties in the DC area including The Eleven, a condo downtown on 11th Street NW in Shaw. This Chinatown parcel is the last undeveloped corner in our neighborhood’s main intersection and has been stalled for some time as the owner, Yeni Wong, navigated both a foreclosure on the property and a declared bankruptcy.

I was really jazzed to see the new wood fencing/walls go up a few weeks ago in front of the old Chinese restaurant, which has been a big gaping hole of an eyesore. Anyone know who did that? (I was thinking maybe the neighborhood BID.)
Darn! I was finally starting to enjoy the mold and asbestos smell every time I walked by. Now what will I do?

Wonder if the orginal plan with leases will still happen or if the whole concept will change.
