Panera Bread: The corner of 10th/Fst, Carroll building — construction workers said Panera Bread is coming at the end of the year.
Legal Seafood + Eyeglass store relocation to F St: I heard from someone who works in the eyeglass store on 7th next to Legal Seafood, that Legal Seafood will be expanding into their space at the end of the year and the eyeglass store will then move to F street, closer to 10th.

I don’t know how long it takes to build out a restaurant, but that space is completeley bare now so wouldn’t be surprised if it took a little while. One would think a chain might be able to get in done in 3 months or so, but its certainly not a matter of 4-6 weeks.

I phoned Panera Breads corporate number. They don’t receive information on new openings until 6 months out. So if it is true it will be more then 6 months to the opening. They know that DC is underserved and the only thing she could confirm is that they are looking to open stores in DC.
