Restaurant Coming To 912 F ST?
We noticed a building permit taped to 912 F ST NW that looked interesting. Issued to Douglas Development, the description of work reads “Remove Existing Sub-Floor and Replace. Frame New Walls.” New sub-floor? New walls? Sounds like they might be getting ready for a new tenant. A search of the DCRA Permit database produced a document which offered up a few more clues (application ID B1005839):
Structural Review Approved . FIRST FLOOR DEMO AND NEW FRAMING WALLS AND SISTERING JOISTS/FORST FLOOR FUTURE RESTAURANT
We’re not sure how big that space is or what size restaurant to expect. None-the-less we’re happy to see plans moving forward for the mostly empty storefronts on that side of F Street.

Paninis AND beer? Would someone please me know where I can sign up to join the crusade to maintain the glut of empty storefronts in our neighborhood! This MUST be stopped!
Coincidentally, workers just got started on a Panera Bread at the south Dupont metro entrance (RIP Lawson’s Deli). The demolition permit for that space only lists the building owner and not the actual establishment (Panera Bread) that would be using the space.
Could this F St NW space be a 2nd Panera? The timing and permit details seem eerily similar.
According to the owner of the retail at 912 F Street, the tenant is Amorini Panini; you can check them out on their website, http://www.amorinipanini.com
We’ve met the Amorini owners on several occasions. Check out their website–a welcome addition to our neighborhood and they are happy to be joining us!

Yes! We saw a couple guys doing some demo over the weekend, stopped in and asked, and they turned out to be the proprietors of what they say will be a new panini place opening some time this summer! Exciting to have something opening on that side of the block.
