A few weeks ago we noted that West Elm had a new sign up above their main entrance on G ST. This past week, we noticed that the sign had come down. No workers were around to ask why the change, but all seems to be moving forward on this location so we’re not taking it as a bad omen.

Not a bad omen. The sign seemed precarious — and rather cheap — looked like a placeholder for a photo shoot. From their PR office — the store is scheduled to open in late August. This will be the largest store outside of CA, so they want to make it perfect.
The building is having issues with the loading dock (has to be reconstructed) which is another reason for delays. Not sure what they are doing with the sidewalk (3rd re-do in 3 years.)
