There’s Something About An Aqua Velva Man?
At Penn Quarter Living, we’re not ashamed to say we enjoy a little pampering. We’re secure enough to pick up a salt scrub at L’Occitane, or even a spa treatment at PR at Partners. That’s why we were so excited to see that The Art of Shaving will be soon be opening in Union Station. Good shaving soaps & oils, badger brushes, even a fancy styptic pen for those times when your Mach 3 isn’t behaving (no man needs more than 3 blades).
But lest you think we take ourselves too seriously, we point to the above photo as proof that we still remember where we came from. Aqua Velva in the Spring & Summer, Old Spice in the Fall & Winter. And while you might soon see us leaving Union Station with too many shaving supplies, you wont see us with a five o’clock shadow.

Your face doesn’t know luxury until it’s been brushed by a badger brush. While Aqua Velva is a fine aftershave, my girlfriend insists on English Leather. She says, “All of my men wear English Leather, or they wear nothing at all.” I think it has something to do with the Eighth Grade Dance back in 1978.
Yeah Bruce Campbell singing “hungry like the wolf” is good stuff.
Also feel like I should apologize for that groan inducing “5 o’clock shadow” line.
When I was a kid, I bought a badger brush at a yard sale. I showed it to my dad, who informed me that it was not the plant I thought it was, but rather a shaving implement. I was crushed.

both the linked commercials cracked me up. I forgot that Pete Rose was one of the “spokesmen” for AV.
