Trump Weighs In On Old Post Office [Re]Development
The news broke last month that the Trump Organization won the bid to redevelop the Italiante style Old Post Office building on Pennsylvania Avenue. A few neighbors we know rolled their eyes when they heard this news but we also know that Trump has delivered on at least some percentage of his properties. Trump’s effusive marketing style is unmistakable as you’ll see a number of superlatives in this op-ed piece that appeared on the Washington Post site yesterday, and he allays concerns that the visiting public won’t have access to the clock tower known for it’s fantastic view of DC. They will. The bells will continue to ring too. More importantly he spells out his high level vision for the property and the unarguable economic benefits it will bring. We like it when jobs come to DC and stay here. What is our particular earmark? We hope there will be a nice outdoor sidewalk dining option as mentioned in the piece as that will bring energy and vitality to the streetscape where it is sorely lacking at night. The project is supposed to be finished in 2016.
