Wayback: Sporty On G Street NW
We haven’t put up a Wayback story in a while but our favorite old photo site, Shorpy, never disappoints and this gem from 1920 taken in the 1200 block of G Street, NW shows off some interesting elements of the time. All the shops are retail with a frame shop, a tailor (Geraci) and a fruit & nut shop featuring “health candies” and baskets of fruits. The car is an Allen and the dog’s face in the back seat is priceless – maybe they’re going touring?
