We’ve probably walked by the United Bank at 1001 G ST NW thousands of times. We’ve certainly noticed the gifts in the windows hundreds of times. And yet it was only recently that we put two and two together to figure out that they were displaying the free gifts they’ll give you when you open an account at the bank.
Many banks offer some kind of gifts or rebates. We’ve received gift cards or small cash deposits from both ING and TD Bank when we opened accounts; but outside of redeeming our Citi ThankYou Rewards, we’ve never been given a merchandise gift from a bank.
United Bank may be a fine spot to do your banking, but would one of these gifts convince you to open an account with them?
