Chop’t Provides Free Lunch On Wednesday! (730 7th St NW)
We’ve received official word that Chop’t Creative Salad is opening on Wednesday (11/14) and will offer lunch “on the house” from 11am – 2pm, while supplies last.
Owners, Tony Shure and Colin McCabe, want to meet the neighborhood. So, all Penn Quarter residents and workers are invited to stop by and say hello (not that we really needed the invitation)!
For its first week, Chop’t will operate on an abbreviated schedule from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Full operational hours and catering and delivery services will begin around Thanksgiving.

Maybe they just want to get rid of all the leftover food they used during training last week? Either way, I’m there!
Gosh, so many people on this blog tend to jump on the negativity boat so quickly! How about thinking/believing that their are giving away free food tomorrow as a wise business idea to allure new customers and ingratiate themselves to their new neighbors. I’ll be there with bells on!
amen Veggie #4. it’s called promotions, marketing and good neighborly relations. and to think, I was always told that there was no free lunch !!!
I think it is a great way to introduce themselves to the lunchtime DC market – they even made today’s Hotline (for the politicos reading this). I hope they consider doing something similar at a good time for folks who live in the area but don’t live close enough to stop by for lunch during the week. Probably won’t happen, though. I also hope it is affordable.
Well I stood in line for 30mins and I have to say, I’m a mixed bag of emotions. I got the grilled asian salad with chicken and the 5-asian dressing. A lot of lettuce, not enough dressing. It’s good when I get a bit of dressing on my lettuce, but for the most part it’s bland. Big enough for two meals!
I sure hope they increase the amount of meat they put on the salads when they’re not free. If not, what a rip off.
Arrived at 1:00pm on Wed and was told they were done (closed) for the day. They advertised free lunch 11:00 – 2:00!

Such a great promotional idea. I love it when restaurants in our area offer these types of promotions, it helps builds loyalty and shows that the owners feel some personal connection to the neighborhood.
