I’m not surprised. $17 gin and tonics is high even for this neighborhood. And with no real food options.
The idea that it was going to be a banquet hall for rental was short sighted and unrealistic — why would you hold a Bar Mitzvah/Wedding/Business affair at a space without parking or real catering facilities?
My prediction — it becomes a “nightclub” again by using the existing liquor license in a creative manner (ie: single “promoter” who “rents” the space for “private” parties), circumventing negotiated neighborhood considerations.
Can’t say I didn’t see this coming a mile away.
Don’t know anything about it personally, but seems more like a bait and switch than a failure. Nothing could fail that quickly if there was an earnest effort to succeed.

Museum’s closing is quite a shock. They spent a ton of money renovating the space, and closing in such a short time is unusual for any business. I noticed that their web site is down too (dcmuseum.com). Does anyone have a scoop on this yet?
