Opera On The Mall This Sunday! (La Bohème)
The time has come for the Washington National Opera’s annual Opera On The Mall Simulcast. This year, area residents are treated to a free showing of La Bohème on Sunday starting at 2pm, roughly at Constitution and 15th St NW.
We caught last year’s showing of Madama Butterfly on the mall, but some may remember that it was a rainy day and turnout was not that great. But, this Sunday’s weather is shaping up to be a sunny day with a high of 83 degrees – perfect outdoor opera viewing weather!

hmmm….let’s see….a bunch of millionaire ball players standing around on the baseball diamond of an empty stadium or an opportunity to see a classic opera for free. see you on the mall!
Well the game starts at 12:05… I’m hitting that until about 1:20 or so, then heading to the Mall for the Opera. Then the Skins game after that!

this is an awesome way to bring no admission cost opera to the people. its these cultural attractions that make DC (especially downtown) a great place to live.
