Own A Piece Of Ford’s Theatre!
NBC4 is reporting that the infamous and uncomfortable wooden chairs that have lined the hall since 1986 are being replaced with plush new chairs. So the theater is offering up the old ones for donations to raise money for the $50 million renovation. The wooden chairs will be sold for tax-deductible donations of $150 each or $500 for a set of four.
We don’t see any mention of this on the Ford’s Theatre website, however.

Actually the sale of the wooden seats from Ford’s has been going on for a bit. There was mailer to donors announcing the sale and an announcement on the Potomac Stages site. It was supposed to wrap with buyers picking up the chairs on August 23. Guess there were chairs left over and they’ve extended the sale.
