The ground floor of the Skanska building at 733 10th St NW will turn into Umaya Izakaya soon we hope. The construction boards are now gone, the restaurant’s website is up, the Twitter account is on, and we read about an unverified April opening date.

It’s great that we’re getting some izakayas downtown. Now we just need Daikaya’s second joint to open up! Walked by the other day and it’s still just lots of newspaper in the windows. Any idea what the timeline on that one is?
