DC Courts To Host Open House Tomorrow
The DC Courts are hosting an Open House on Friday, May 1 from 10am to 4pm, called Law Day. The event is free, open to the public, and spans several buildings in the Judiciary Square area. Here is a full schedule of events for the day (pdf). Some notable events include:
- A Judicial Town Hall Meeting with the two chief judges and the presiding judges taking questions from the audience
- Courthouse atrium where attendees can get free legal assistance
- Job Fair with information on jobs available at the D.C. Courts
- Mock mediations, so attendees can see how mediation works
- Information on the Superior Court’s Community Referral Program, which provides mediation of neighborhood disputes without a case having to be filed
- The Wills Project – an exhibit of 13 wills of famous Washingtonians, including Frederick Douglass and several US Presidents
