Fastcase Moves Into 711 D ST NW (Union Hardware Building)
Legal research database provider Fastcase opened their new DC headquarters this week, taking over the 2nd floor of the the old Union Hardware building at 711 D Street NW. FastCase joins the Alliance for American Manufacturing at this address, which we wrote about back in January.
We’re happy to welcome Fastcase to the neighborhood, now if we could just get Red Apron Butchery to finally take over the ground floor…

I now firmly believe that Red Apron will not move into the PQ spot. They are officially the neighborhood’s new Wagamama. It is clear that despite originally scheduling a spring 2012 opening that they have not even made progress towards opening the PQ location (if you look in the window – like Wagamama – they appear to be using the space as storage). According to several employees at Red Apron’s Union Market location, they no longer believe that The Neighborhood Restaurant Group plans to open in this location (less than stellar sales at other two locations and fights with city and landlord that have raised cost of business). In their words they think, at this point, it’s just being used as free marketing. Emails to NRG have gotten the standard Soviet style response of “everything is fine, moving along according to plan, and we are excited to open in [add two months to whatever the date is of the email they sent me.]) It really is a shame that NRG, which by its very name is supposed to have a “neighborhood” local bent to it, has to act with the same level of deception, dishonesty, and opaqueness as as a multinational company such as Wagamama. In all honesty, though I would love to have a butcher go i to that space, their lack of honesty, transparency and professionalism have really soured me on the whole NRG/Red Apron brand.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Thanks! We’re excited to be here. Would someone from PQL like to come take a look at the renovation?
