PQ Lunch Hour Activities
Now that the weather is warming up, we’re thinking of how to best spend that lunch hour in the PQ (preferably outside). One activity that the WaPo suggests is catching one of the 45 minute Civil War-era shows between 11am and 1pm at the Ford’s Theater. That may suffice for a couple of rainy days during the summer, but what about the rest of the summer? What is your favorite excuse to spend your lunch hour out of the office?

I don’t mind just going home and eating a fresh homemade lunch with the balcony door open, something I definitely could not do when I lived in DC but worked in Tysons Corner and Fairfax.
“favorite excuse to spend your lunch hour out of the office?”
Well, as a tour guide my office is the great outdoors of Washington, DC. Lunch is frequently a break to be inside with heat or air conditioning. In Penn Quarter, the center of the Portrait Gallery/SAMA museum is a delight! A temperature controlled indoor space that feels like the outdoors. Huge, too, so 8th grade tourist groups can take a break.
When I can get out of the office:
Jogs around the mall, Lunch in the atrium at Portrait Gallery, shopping in the Spy Museum Gift Shop!
