ZPizza Open And Delivering! (806 H Street NW)
We dropped by the newly opened ZPizza at 806 H Street NW (next to Five Guys), chatted with the owner, and sampled the pizza. Our verdict? It’s a nice addition to the neighborhood and a second option for finding a slice without having to order a whole pizza. ZPizza renders the tasty dinner pie in three sizes (10″, 14″, and 18″) using an organic, light wheat crust, and healthy natural ingredient approach offering both gluten free and vegan options for those so inclined.
We took a turn tasting the ZBQ pizza which includes BBQ sauce, BBQ chicken, roasted peppers, mozzarella cheese, cliantro, and sweet corn finding the combination of flavors both interesting and workable. The crust is light and the overall mix of ingredients leaves a flavorful sense in the mouth without a greasy aftertaste. It’s not Chicago deep dish but it doesn’t strive to be. The full menu includes salads, sandwiches, rusticas (pizza on a free-form crust), and pastas. Available sodas can be found from a standard soda self-serve fountain machine which seems to be de rigueur these days for fast food establishments. Seating is available at four tops in a plain interior and ordering is done at the counter. Delivery within a one mile radius and online ordering are also available.
Will we go back? Yes, we will.

Got a plain cheese pizza last night with mushrooms and I can honestly say this place makes Papa Johns seems like Grimaldis/Pattsis (in Brooklyn)… Way too much cheese and not enough sauce. The only redeeming quality was using a $5 coupon to make the offense that less egregious. Never going back will stick with getting to We the Pizza.
