Online Neighborhood Meeting About 7th Street Realignment And Car Closure Plan (Tue, Aug 25 At 6:30 pm)
The Penn Quarter Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC2C) will host a special online meeting with DDOT (DC Department of Transportation) open to interested parties the evening of Tuesday, August 25 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm to discuss and answer questions about the recently announced 7th Street realignment into car free lanes. Most of 7th Street from Pennsylvania Ave NW to Massachusetts Ave NW will only be open to buses, trucks, and bicycles per the plan and there is no question that this will affect both business and residential user of 7th Street. The impact may become even more apparent should the Capital One Arena start hosting events although that may be some time in the future. Expanded sidewalks and more streetside dining are part of the picture too. Although DDOT issued a public notice of intent on July 9, 2020, there were no neighborhood meetings or outreach conducted that we’re aware of making this a unique opportunity to discuss this subject publicly with DDOT.
