Maybe this doesn’t qualify as the photo of the week, but it was too good to pass up. This morning we caught the above bird (is that a sparrow? albatross?) on F Street trying to drag home a morning snack. We don’t know if he eventually got it off the ground, but he managed to drag it across the sidewalk during the minute or so we were there.

I don’t really see the cuteness in watching a poor bird trying to eat some processed food that will probably kill it if it succeeds.
That’s like saying “Awww, look at that cute kitty eating the Hot Pocket… it’s so cute!”
Ok, the “poor bird” comment was in jest. But if you think gelatin, corn starch, high fructose corn syrup, and citric acid are good for birds, go to a pet store, get a bird, and give it a gummy worm that’s about the same size as the bird itself to see what will happen.
