Celebrate Seasonal Food
As the best of Summer’s produce fills the farmer’s market stands, here are three opportunities to enjoy special meals featuring seasonal and local produce.
Don’t miss this year’s Squash Blossom Festival at one of my neighborhood favorites, Oyamel. If you’ve never tasted the wonderfully delicate and delicious squash blossoms, especially when stuffed with goat cheese and deep fried, then you are in for a treat. Special cocktails and menu items incorporating squash blossoms will be available through August 14.
On August 8, Pink Line Project will host a summer dinner party at the Textile Museum with local chef Barton Seaver, a National Geographic Fellow and author of “For Cod and Country,” preparing a special menu incorporating summertime, seafood, sustainability and surprise. Tickets are now available for the second date of Outstanding in the Field to be held in our area. If you’re not familiar with this one-of-a-kind dining experience, check it out. The chefs from Birch & Barley will be preparing a custom dinner incorporating produce straight from the farm where you’ll be dining, along with a special beer pairing.
