A little outside the PQ, but worth the walk. The WVSA ARTiculate Gallery is showing off works commissioned as part of the third annual Every Dog Has its Day: Celebrating Our Canine Companions. By submitting your pup’s photo (or any other animal, they don’t discriminate) you can commission a pet portrait to be completed by one of the art students, in either realistic or abstract style.
Prices range from $100 to $500, with 30% of the commission going to the student. From a press release on WVSA their mission is to “develop, implement, and support arts-integrated education and employment programs for children and youth with special skills, special talents and special needs.”
We’ve always wanted a painting of the dogs in our lives playing poker together, this may be our chance; and for a good cause too. I wonder if they could put something like this together for us?
