Flight Wine Bar (777 6th St NW) Significantly Expands Number Of Flights
Flight Wine Bar (777 6th St NW) which opened earlier this year in January recently announced a significant revamp of their menu by boosting their wine flight selection [PDF menu] to total twenty choices. Pricing is simple – each flight is $18. From the press release:
The stars of the new wine menu are the flights. Now boosting 20 selections, the flight list has tripled in size allowing for extensive offerings that pay homage to under the radar varietals and regions, while also highlighting smaller production vineyards from more well-known regions. The creative, tongue-in cheek names of many of the flights set the mood for a playful encounter with a number of the flights. A flight of three wines is $18.

The new food menu items emphasize the kitchen’s focus on simple, yet delicious food designed to complement the wines. New items on the menu created by Chef Armani Malik Copeland include: Seafood Bouillabaisse with shrimp, scallops and mussels in a sake broth; Zucchini Fritters with a lemon-honey dipping sauce and Coconut Milk Consommé with lemongrass, forbidden rice and onion relish. Customer favorites such as Hanger Steak with whipped potato, black sesame tahini, tabbouleh, fried shallots and Slow Cooked Pork Belly with spanish black beans and pickled fresno will continue to be offered. Dulce de Leche Bread Pudding with vanilla cream sauce adds a sweet ending to the menu additions.
