If you’re not planning to fly down to New Orleans for Mardi Gras this year, be sure to check out a neighborhood celebration at Acadiana (901 New York Ave., NW).
Alternatively you could host your own Bacchus Sunday or Fat Tuesday party. A favorite menu from parties we’ve hosted in the past includes:
Grits & Grillades with Poached Eggs and Hollandaise Sauce
French Toast Cupcakes with Maple Frosting and Bacon Crumbles
And, of course, no party would be complete without a king cake. Ask any New Orleans native and there are only two places you can get a king cake, Haydel’s or Randazzo’s.
