By e-mail we were notified of the June Penn Quarter Neighborhood Association breakfast meeting. It will be on Thursday, June 15 at Carmine’s Restaurant (425 7th St NW).
The discussion topic will be the concept plans for Pershing Park which incorporates a World War I (one) memorial.

Edwin Fountain, Vice-Chair, WWI Centennial CommissionEd Fountain will present the concept plans for Pershing Park, incorporating a memorial to those who fought in World War I. The park’s original design by landscape architect M. Paul Friedberg became eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places following the Commission’s design competition. The current design includes changes that reflect Pershing Park’s current historic status.
