We heard from Spice 6 Modern Indian (740 6th St NW) and verified today that their Chinatown location in Washington DC is open in the former On Rye location. We received a few photos and learned about the new Indian restaurant from an email as below:
The DC location will cater to folks seeking traditional Southern Indian fare and also a full vegetarian and vegan menu. Also launching is a full made to oder traditional dosa menu and uttapam menu!
All curries, sauces, yogurt for mango lassi, paneer and naan is made in house. Naan’s are made to order in a traditional tandoor oven.
740 6th Street NW DC 20001 (old On Rye space)
11am – 10pm daily
Other area location include Hyattsville, MD and Vienna, VA. The family owned and operated restaurant also is slated to open at Westfield Montgomery Mall in the food court this summer.
