Washington Capitals Stanley Cup Parade Is Tomorrow!
The Washington Capitals were victorious in their effort to secure the Stanley Cup. Over the weekend the Cup and Caps players have been all over town. The victory parade takes place tomorrow, Tuesday, June 12, and it will skirt the Penn Quarter neighborhood. Highlights follow below but are summarized in this Washington Post article also:
- Begins at 11 am at Constitution Ave and 17th St NW
- Runs east on Constitution Ave to 7th St NW
- Turns right towards the National Mall where the parade ends and the rally takes place
- Metro will run rush hour service all day long
- Trains will bypass stations if there is too much congestion and stations may become entry only or exit only depending on conditions
- Road closures take effect from 9:30 am to 3 pm – the full list is here
