Thanksgiving Dinner In PQ
Prefer to go out for your Thanksgiving dinner? There are a number of PQ area restaurants open for your dining pleasure. Although honestly, in composing this list (and having to visit so many restaurant websites), it’s tempting to never visit them again until they create pages that are not flash based and don’t assume we want to listen to music while browsing.
- 701 Restaurant (701 Pennsylvania Ave NW)
- Chef Geoff’s (1301 Pennsylvania Ave NW)
- Clyde’s (Gallery Place, 707 7th ST NW)
- IndeBleu (707 G ST NW)
- Legal Seafood (704 7th ST NW)
- McCormick & Schmick’s (901 F ST NW)
- Rasika (633 D ST NW)
All of the above information is courtesy of OpenTable, so we very well may have missed some. Let us know if we’ve missed any of your favorite PQ Thanksgiving restaurants.

We did 701 a few years back and really enjoyed it. They had a different chef back then but the new one is really good too.
Ah, Flash restaurant sites. I think the web developers for restaurants also do the apartment and condo websites. Get as little information as possible, find a bunch of stock photos bearing no relationship whatsoever to the actual business, add some dumb Flash menus that only look right on the latest version of Internet Explorer, top it off with a irritating “intro” page that sends “music” blasting out of your speakers, and voila, you have a nearly useless Web site that for some dumb reason actually impresses the business owner.
So, if you just want a menu, try http://washingtondc.menupages.com

I had lunch at Clyde’s today (Tgiving) with some 777 7th friends and it was very good. Their crab cake is always excellent and we sat out on that sunroom patio thingy. It was fairly busy in there but not crazy.
There was no hot water at the China Garden on H Street on T Day evening when I went with my visiting family for a late supper. Has anyone else had the same disgusting experience there? Also, does anyone know how to report restaurants that have no hot water to the inspection people?
I would hope that all restaurants would follow the law & have hot water at all times. Or is this like the short-term rentals, where anything goes?
