Have We Been Asked “Where Is Ford’s Theatre” For The Last Time?
This week tourists & residents alike can rejoice! No longer will visitors have to stand on the sidewalk at 10th & E trying to figure out “where the heck is Ford’s Theatre?” It seems many people don’t notice that the brick building on the east side of 10th street is actually a theater. Adding to their confusion is the fact that the original Ford’s sign is small, nondescript, and easy to miss. Recently two large signs were put up over the new entrance to Ford’s Theatre, just to the north of the actual theatre. These signs may not help those who ask “where is that Lincoln Theater?” though.
The new marquee signs are prominent and attractive – what a transformation for 10th street. A couple of weeks ago pqresident reminded us that Ford’s is set to reopen in February 2009. Soon we hope those construction fences will come down and the sidewalks will once again be open to pedestrians (getting to check out shows and the museum will be cool too).

the tourists approach me regularly with geography questions. I think I should start billing the Federal government.
