Walk Up To The King
I love the city. We don’t have drive thrus…we have walk ups. The King has his hamburger palace on G Street between 5th and 6th. Gifford’s Ice Cream emporium on E Street between 10th and 11th also has a walk up window. Walk up to one for dinner and then up to the other for dessert.

hardly so. one of the great benefits of living in the PQ is that you can easily go running on the Mall or down by the river. knock out a couple of miles and reward yourself with a Tendergrill chicken sandwich (450 delicious calories).
Has anyone been to the food place in between burger king and the building which used to house the arena chicken place?
The place between Burger King and the Arena Grill is the Family Diner. Great breakfast sandwiches and burgers. Never had the fries, but during lunch lots of folks crowd in to purchase fries and ice tea. They open early Monday – Saturday. I prefer the Waffle house, though for a great breakfast.
I was surprised by this, but another good walk up place (well it’s a store front really) is the Clyde’s to-go store at the 7th & G side entrance Verizon Center/Gallery Place Theaters. They make a great breakfast, and it’s very reasonably priced. I’ve never made it over for lunch but I’d imagine that’s pretty good as well.
please keep establisments like this south of mass ave nw and west of 7th street. thank you in advance.
