Gallery Showcases Fotobama Exhibition and Tech Pavilion

WASHINGTON – Pepco’s Edison Place Gallery will host FotoWeek DC’s “Fotobama” exhibition from Saturday, November 7 through Sunday, November 15.

“Fotobama” showcases the top 100 winners and finalists from the 2009 FOTOBAMA international photography contest recently displayed at the Newseum. With more than 1,500 initial entries, the exhibit includes photographs of President Obama’s 2008 campaign through the eyes of photographers varying in experience, age, and nationality. The exhibit is sponsored by FotoWeek DC, a nonprofit corporation in the District of Columbia established to raise awareness of the role of photography in our world, and to unite and strengthen the Washington, DC, photography community.

On November 14 and 15, Fotoweek’s Tech Pavilion will feature workshops on topics such as HD Video from your DSLR Camera and The Final Step, Printing Your Image. For more information, log on to: http://www.fotoweekdc.org/events/fotoweekcentral.aspx#fotoweekcentral.

Pepco’s Edison Place Gallery is in the 700 block of Eighth Street NW, between G and H streets, one block west of the Verizon Center. The gallery will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on November 7 through November 13 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 14 and 15. Admission is free.
