Son Of Platinum Nightclub?
One of our most commented on running story lines of 2008 was the now closed Platinum nightclub at 915 F St NW and the adverse impact the club had on downtown life. Although that building has hosted a nightclub since the late 1980s, most recently as Platinum and then as Club Bounce, many weekends in 2008 until the club closed included a visit by the police and their accompanying blue and red squad car lights to quell some kind of disturbance. Fortunately for both the downtown business and residential community, the city shut down the club in late October 2008 and peace was restored.
Two PQ Living readers pointed us to a recent Craigslist advertisement soliciting part time employees to market/manage private events for a “newly established underground social networking club” to serve the “collegiate crowd” directing applicants to the back door (a rollup style garage door) of 915 F St. We haven’t seen any overt activity at the location and we certainly are not going to ding a good dance club that is a good neighbor such as the one next to Platinum. But, we cannot help but ask if this is the Son of Platinum returning to F Street?

I heard from a local police officer that Platinum was raided on Friday?? They tried to have an under age, all you can drink party?? They refused entry to the police and then the police, fire marshall, ABC and ABRA came and raided the place. No permits for construction and they had minors under age drinking!! How horrible!! Can someone confirm this???? He had no business license, no liquor license and was operating an under age party!
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
They’ve fixed the place up at some point in the last couple months. It used to have a broken door, but now the door is fixed and it looks much nicer. May also have replaced or cleaned the windows.
