A Touch Of Fun On Pennsylvania Avenue
We never know what gems Penn Quarter Living readers will unearth every week in our downtown neighborhood. Joy, one of our regular readers, sent in photos of a diorama set up in an office window fronting Pennsylvania Ave NW wanting to know more; we knew this would be a Monday story. To the left of 601 Pennsylvania Ave’s entrance (the office building and not the condo) passers-by will encounter a back to school themed diorama on display to ring in the fall commemorating children returning to their scholastic endeavors. We understand that the dioramas change on a regular basis and applaud the creativity of this office worker for brightening up our neighborhood with this special touch. If readers have witnessed other scenes in this window display or know of other similar touches that make our neighborhood special, feel free to mention them in the comments. More pictures follow the break.

This lady sets up a different diorama about once a quarter. I’ve seen her “redecorating” a couple times, and she clearly enjoys it. Just one more experience with an intimate stranger that makes city life interesting!
