Capital One Arena Finally Has A Digital Marquee
One of our major pet peeves with the Capital One Arena (formerly the Verizon Center and the MCI Center) was that it didn’t have marquee style signage. You walked by and there was no way to tell what event was happening unless you wanted to guess based on how everyone outside was dressed. For Caps and Wizards games that’s not a problem but for concerts you get into a game of guess the artist based on the crowd.
Finally, there is now a digital marquee above the main entrance so it’s clear what is going on inside. This is great for a number of reasons. Attendees have no doubt where to enter and what event is taking place. And, it’s also great for selfie photos when an attendee wants to show off their being at the event they paid all that money to see. Now all the Capital One Arena needs to do is display the same signage on the main digital signboards on the corner of 7th and F St and along 7th Street during the event too. That would be an additional improvement.
