Chapters Literary Arts Center, a 501 (c)(3) organization, is hosting a “Raise The Roof” fundraiser tonight at the space where it has signed a leasing letter of intent in the 601 Pennsylvania Avenue building. The space’s entrance is actually on the Indiana Ave side of the building to the right of the condo/residential entrance between 6th and 7th Streets, NW.
Food and libations will be from FreshFarm Markets and Teasim with Irish music from poet/musician Terence Winch and friends starting at 7 pm. Poet Stan Plumly will read at 8 pm and on open mike poetry reading will go from 9 pm to 10 pm. Suggested donation from 7 to 9 pm is $75 and the suggested donation for Starving Poets for the open mike reading from 9 pm to 10 pm is $25.
