Someone should address the amount of youths hanging out on the Portrait gallery steps leaving trash behind and loitering around the Gallery Place metro. They are deliquents causing problems for area residents.

There was a cat fight on Monday night in front of the GP metro station that was pretty awesome / hilarious. Two fat girls decided to go at it and even blocked traffic for a few minutes. The police had to show up and break it up but I’m just surprised more fights dont happen given the amount of loitering that takes place there. What about the guys who preach racisim and hate on Friday afternoons/evenings outside the GP metro station? How is that tolerated as the police stand idly by and do nothing.

David, #2 – per the recently weakened and passed noise bill, the preachers are likely not doing anything illegal. it’s non-commercial amplified speech in a commercially zoned area.

you may want to direct your thoughts about noise to the City Council and Mr. Jack Evans the Ward 2 Councilmember, in particular, who created the carve out allowing the above.

the DNA also adopted a stance on the matter (look at the headline “Tough Week for…”).

Yes thank you Jack Evans for the gift of noise downtown. Apparently no one lives there & people dont deserve to work in peace.

I wish there had been more notice of this meeting as there are several pressing issues worthy of Groomes’ attention like the increase in transvestite prostitutes (from Baltimore) on 4th street in the triangle:

And issues with the police letting suspects go after someone got shot.

Would people be willing to press our politicians to change the zoning so it reflects, uh, reality? IMHO, There are a lot of residents here, so there must be come residential protections.

The only way you’re gonna get Jack to recognize that the GP area is a residential area is to help VOTE HIM OUT. No matter if you are a Ward 2 resident or not, do what you can to help get Jack out of office.

DC and Ward 2 needs a Councilman that upholds the rights of the citizens of his/her ward … not the rights of wealthy developers.

VOTE FOR CARY SILVERMAN
NEIGHBORHOODS FIRST – FULL TIME

Jack the Knife stuck it to us here, but the majority of his constituents are outside our downtown area.

This guy allowed even more noise in our downtown area to appease the unions, that need really noisy, homeless and non-union people to work their picket lines while sitting on their lazy arses.

Jack the Snake won’t get many votes downtown, but unfortunately, he has a lot of influence and deep pockets to keep him in power.

Evans won’t uphold anything except his sinecure as a councilman.
