Here are just of a few fun foodie events coming to the area that are on our radar.
Today: As announced on WaPo, there’s a new way to dinner party in DC with kitchensurfing.com, an online marketplace that connects private chefs and party hosts.
Thursday, October 16: Be part of the solution to ending world hunger on World Food Day. Dine at any of Jose Andres’ ThinkFoodGroup restaurants and 10% of sales will go to World Central Kitchen. Or you can help with a twitterfest, #toastafarmer #wfd2014
Sunday, October 19: Eat the Rich (1839 7th St., NW) Anniversary Party, Umlaut O’Clock, featuring $1 oysters and drink specials
Sunday, October 19: Poste (555 8th St., NW) hosts Burger Battle to benefit Brainfood with 7 area chefs competing for “best burger” bragging rights.
Monday, October 20: Oyamel (401 7th St., NW) Day of the Dead Celebration Kick-off Party. Tickets available here.
Sunday, October 26: Join Mario Batali and Jim Webster (Washington Post) for a luncheon at Zaytinya (701 9th St., NW) to celebrate their new cookbook, America Farm to Table. Portion of the proceeds benefit FreshFarm Markets. Tickets available here.
Thursday, November 13: Join Heart’s Delight and the American Heart Association for a special screening of the film, “American Wine Story,” at E Street Cinema (555 11th St., NW) with reception and wine tasting. Tickets available here.
