Happy Chinese New Year (新春愉快)
Chinese New Year number 4705 is upon us starting February 18 and our neighborhood will have its own celebration one week from today. To ring in the year of the Boar or 豬 (this time it is a Fire Boar), the Chinatown Cultural Center (616 H St, NW) will have a full day of programs from 11 am to 5 pm. From 2 pm to 5 pm, a parade and lively activities will take place on H Street with the lion and dragon making their appearance at 4 pm accompanied by fireworks. Here’s a short rundown on the Boar.
新春愉快 or Gong Xi Fa Cai or Happy Chinese New Year!
